The center of San José del Cabo keeps the character of a traditional Mexican town. Life revolves around Plaza Mijares and the mission, first founded in 1730. Its streets are full of galleries, restaurants, boutiques and the weekly Art Walk, which brings residents and visitors together through much of the year. Homes here range from restored colonial residences to contemporary condominiums, often a short drive from the estuary and the beach. The international airport is about fifteen minutes away.
